Reliance Jamnagar, summer 2024
Nine manufacturing sites' servers on one screen.
Reliance's Jamnagar complex is the world's largest refinery site. As a vocational trainee in IT infrastructure I was handed a problem the team dealt with by hand every day: knowing which of the servers across nine manufacturing sites were healthy, which were drifting, and which needed a person to go and look.
The project was a dashboard that answered that at a glance, and the data work underneath it.
How it works
Collect
Server metrics pulled from Zabbix across the nine sites.
Clean
SQL to normalise the data and catch duplicates across sites that recorded the same thing differently.
Show
One dashboard, site by site, with the servers that need attention first.
Forecast
A Random Forest model on pipeline data to estimate the remaining life of gasifier chambers, so maintenance could be scheduled rather than reacted to.
What it changed
- Manual checking fell by about two-thirds once the dashboard was in use.
- Certified by Learning and Development, Jamnagar.
Built with Zabbix, SQL, Python with scikit-learn.
