Leadership ยท case study
Founding product team, KOSHI
Four teams, one weekly goal, one launch.
KOSHI was Bull's first product, and its first product team: product, design, content and a calling team, none of whom had shipped an app together before. My job was to make them one team with one week's goal at a time, from the first retailer interview to launch day and the month after.
Most of that is unglamorous: writing requirements people can build from, keeping the board honest, and deciding what not to do this week.
How it went
Set the roadmap
Ten weeks to the Play Store, with the pilot shops and the launch read-out on the calendar from day one.
Write the requirements
Each module as a requirement document the engineers could build from and the content team could write to.
Run the board
Linear for every task and, after launch, every bug: a hundred and seventeen logged and triaged in the first weeks.
Keep four teams on one goal
A weekly goal that product, design, content and calling all answered to, and a review at the end of each week.
Build the launch kit
A sales-call script, tutorial videos, WhatsApp templates and a problem-check form, so the calling team could onboard a shop and fix its first problem without me on the call.
Run the month after
The call tracker across six hundred shops and a win-back flow for the few who deleted the app.
What came of it
- The app shipped on the date set in week one.
- The calling team runs onboarding on its own now, which is the real test of a launch kit.
